A ground-level deck is a realistic weekend job with a pry bar, a reciprocating saw, and a dumpster or heavy trailer — old deck lumber is bulky, nail-filled, and heavy once it's soaked in years of weather. Treated lumber isn't recyclable and can't be burned, so it goes to the transfer station by weight.
