A slate pool table is one of the heaviest things in any home — the slate bed alone can run 600–1,000 lbs, and it has to come apart in sections to move at all. We remove and dispose of pool tables across the Kansas City metro, disassembly included.

How we handle it

We disassemble the rails, felt, and slate, then carry the pieces out — typically $150–$400 depending on the table size, the number of slate pieces, and stairs. If the table is in good shape, we'll try to rehome it before disposal; otherwise the slate and wood are disposed of properly and the hardware scrapped.

Thinking about doing it yourself?

Doing it yourself? Pool tables are not a DIY move — the slate is brittle, extremely heavy, and cracks if mishandled, and a fully assembled table won't fit through most doorways. Proper removal means unbolting the rails, peeling the felt, and lifting each slate section separately (each can weigh 150+ lbs). Unless you have experience and a strong crew, this is the classic "call someone" item.

Had Royal Junk Pros come out to clean my garage, and they did a great job. I had a bunch of old junk and random stuff that had piled up over the years, and they got everything loaded up way faster than I expected. They showed up when they said they would, were friendly and professional, and made the whole process really easy.
