General

  • How much does junk removal cost in Kansas City?

Most residential jobs in the Kansas City metro fall between $69 (single item / trip minimum) and $525 (full truck), with whole-house cleanouts running $525 to $1,500+ depending on volume. We price by truck space, not by item or hour. Our $69 trip minimum and $85 couch starting price are among the lowest published rates in KC — typically 15–30% under franchise rates (Junk King, 1-800-GOT-JUNK?, College HUNKS) for the same job. We give you a written quote on-site before we lift anything — no surprises.

  • Do you offer same-day junk removal?

Yes. Same-day requests booked before noon are usually picked up the same afternoon across the KC metro. Text us a photo of the load and we'll reply within 15 minutes with a quote and an arrival window.

  • What items can you take?

Furniture, mattresses, appliances, electronics, yard debris, construction debris, hoarder cleanouts, estate cleanouts, and general household junk. If you can point at it, we can almost always take it.

  • What can't you take?

Hazardous materials: paint, motor oil, gasoline, propane tanks, car batteries, tires, asbestos, lead-based materials, and medical waste. We'll point you to the right Kansas City HHW drop-off site for those.

  • Are you licensed and insured?

Yes — fully licensed and insured. We can provide a Certificate of Insurance same-day for property managers, HOAs, and commercial clients.

  • Do you donate or recycle?

Whenever possible, yes. We have established donation partnerships with local Kansas City charities and recyclers. When items are donated, we send you a donation receipt within 14 days.

  • Do I need to be home for the pickup?

Not always. If items are outside, in the garage, or you can give us access instructions, we can complete the job without you home. Most customers prefer a quick on-site walk-through, but it's not required.

  • What areas do you serve?

Independence (our HQ), Kansas City, Lee's Summit, Blue Springs, Raytown, Grandview, Overland Park, Olathe, Lenexa, Shawnee, Liberty, Gladstone, and surrounding KC-metro communities.

Pricing

  • Why volume-based pricing instead of by item?

Two reasons: (1) Disposal cost depends on truck volume, not item count. Volume pricing matches the underlying cost. (2) It's fairer to the customer. If your items take less space than expected, you pay less — that doesn't happen with by-item pricing.

  • Is there a trip minimum?

Yes — $69 for residential pickups within our standard KC-metro service area. This is one of the lowest published trip minimums in Kansas City and covers our dispatch, drive time, and the basic disposal fee for a single small item. For one appliance plus a few boxes, the next tier (1/8 truck) starts at $95.

  • Do you charge extra for same-day service?

No same-day premium for standard residential pickups. Very large multi-truck same-day jobs may carry a small expedite fee, always disclosed up-front.

  • What payment do you accept?

Cash, all major credit/debit cards, and Zelle. We do not require deposits for standard residential jobs. Commercial accounts can be billed net-15 with a signed agreement.

  • Do you offer any discounts?

Yes — first-time customers get $25 off with code JUNK25. One discount per job — just mention it when you book.

  • Do you have a referral program?

Yes — refer a friend and you both get $25. Your friend gets $25 off their first job, and once it's done you get a $25 credit toward yours. No limit on referrals. Details at https://royaljunkpros.com/refer.

Process & scheduling

  • How fast can you get to me?

For most of the KC metro within 30 miles of Independence, same-day for bookings before 11am, next-day reliably otherwise. Our crew runs daily routes through Independence, Kansas City, Lee's Summit, Blue Springs, Overland Park, and the wider metro.

  • What happens after I submit a quote request?

We text you back within 15 minutes with a quote range and an arrival window. On-site, our uniformed crew gives you a firm written quote before lifting anything. You approve, we work. Payment is at completion.

  • Can I text you a photo instead of filling out the form?

Yes — that's the fastest way. Text photos to (816) 965-7925 and we'll reply with a quote in 15 minutes.

  • Do you require deposits?

No deposit required for standard residential jobs. We offer an optional $25 deposit booking flow if you want to lock in a slot, fully credited toward your final invoice.

  • How do donations work?

Whenever we can, items in donate-able condition go to our local KC partners (Habitat ReStore, Goodwill, City Union Mission, Furniture Bank of KC). Within 14 days, you receive a donation receipt listing what was donated and where, for tax purposes.

  • Do you offer a Certificate of Insurance for property managers?

Yes — same-day. Send us the COI holder details and we'll email it within the hour. We carry $1M general liability.

Residential Junk Removal

  • Do I need to be home for a residential pickup?

Not always. If items are outside or you can give us access instructions, we can complete the job without you present. Most customers prefer to do a quick walk-through with us though — it only takes a few minutes.

  • How much does residential junk removal cost in Kansas City?

Most residential jobs in the KC metro fall between $69 (trip minimum / single item) and $525 (full truck), with whole-house cleanouts running $525 to $1,500+. We price by truck space, not item count — so a single big item or a few small items both come in at the trip minimum. We give you an exact written quote on-site before we lift a thing.

Yes — same-day. Just let us know who the COI holder should be (property manager, HOA, building owner) and we'll email it within the hour.

Yes. We have monthly and quarterly arrangements with several KC-metro property managers. We can quote a flat per-turnover rate or a volume rate, whichever you prefer.

Furniture Removal

  • Do you take mattresses and box springs?

Yes — mattresses, box springs, bed frames, and headboards. Mattress disposal in Kansas City is regulated, so we handle the fees and the routing — you don't think about it.

  • How much to remove a couch in Kansas City?

A single couch typically falls in the $85–$149 range depending on size, location (walk-up vs. ground floor), and timing. Sectionals run $119–$225. We quote a firm number on-site.

Appliance Removal

  • Do you take refrigerators with refrigerant still in them?

Yes. We follow EPA Section 608 requirements — the refrigerant is recovered by a certified facility, and the metal is recycled.

  • How much to remove an old refrigerator in Kansas City?

Single-fridge removal typically runs $79–$149 depending on access. We bundle multiple appliances at a meaningful discount.

Garage Cleanouts

  • How long does a garage cleanout take?

Most two-car garages clear in 2–4 hours with a 2-person crew. Heavily packed garages or 3-car garages can run 5–8 hours.

  • What can't you take from a garage?

We can't take paint (oil or latex), motor oil, gasoline, propane tanks, car batteries, or tires in regular pickups — those have to go to KC household hazardous waste (HHW). We'll point you to the right local drop-off. Everything else is fair game.

Estate Cleanouts

  • Can you coordinate with my realtor or out-of-state family?

Yes. Estate cleanouts are often coordinated by out-of-state adult children. We can text/email photos before and after, communicate with the realtor, hold a key, and provide a full inventory and donation log.

  • How long does an estate cleanout typically take?

A 3-bedroom home typically clears in 1–2 full days with a 3-person crew. We give you a firm estimate after a walk-through.

Construction Debris Removal

  • Do you take asbestos, lead, or hazardous building materials?

No — those require specialty abatement contractors. For everything else (drywall, lumber, tile, demo waste, cabinets, flooring), we are your team.

  • Can you bill my contractor or my LLC?

Yes. We can invoice on net-15 terms for active contractor accounts. Just let us know who's responsible for billing.

Same-Day Hauling

  • How do I get a same-day junk removal quote?

Easiest: text a photo of the items to our number (visible in the header). We reply within 15 minutes with a quote and an arrival window. You can also call or fill out the quote form.

  • Is there a same-day premium?

No same-day premium for standard residential pickups. Very large same-day jobs (multi-truck) may carry a small expedite fee — we always tell you up-front.

Property Cleanouts

  • What's the difference between a property cleanout and an estate cleanout?

An estate cleanout is usually tied to a death or downsizing and involves sorting keepsakes with extra care. A property cleanout is about fully emptying a property — a rental turnover, foreclosure, pre-sale clear-out, or hoarding situation — so it's ready for the next tenant, buyer, or listing. We do both and tailor the pace and sorting to the situation.

  • Can you handle a property cleanout if I'm out of state?

Yes. Many of our property cleanouts are booked by out-of-state owners, landlords, and realtors. We can use a lockbox or hold a key, text photos before and after, provide a donation log, and bill you remotely — you never have to be on-site.

Yard Waste Removal

  • Do you remove storm debris and fallen branches?

Yes — fallen limbs, downed branches, brush, and storm debris are some of our most common yard-waste jobs in the KC metro, especially after spring and summer storms. Text us a photo of the pile and we'll quote it in about 15 minutes.

  • How much does yard waste removal cost in Kansas City?

Yard waste is priced by volume like everything we haul — most loads start around $95 and scale with how much truck space the debris fills. A few bags of leaves come in near the trip minimum; a full storm cleanup or a torn-out deck runs higher. We quote a firm number on-site before we load.
