Hot tubs are one of the most-requested specialty removals we handle in the Kansas City metro — and one of the most variable in price. A standard accessible tub might run $425; a multi-deck built-in might run $945+. Here's what drives the difference and what to expect.
Typical cost range: $425–$945
Most KC hot-tub removals fall between $425 and $695. The harder the access, the more crew time it takes, the more it costs. Built-ins, walled-in patios, and tubs that need to be cut into pieces can run higher.
What affects the price
- Size (4-person vs. 8-person tub)
- Access (yard vs. deck vs. walled-in patio)
- Whether it needs to be cut into pieces (built-ins almost always do)
- Disposal fees (some KC facilities charge by weight for hot tub shells)
- Distance from the truck to the tub
The process
- We drain the tub completely (you can drain it before we arrive to speed things up)
- We disconnect plumbing — but NOT electrical (your electrician needs to handle that)
- We cut the tub into manageable pieces if needed (typically 4–8 pieces with a recip saw)
- We load and haul to a KC transfer station; the metal is recycled, the shell goes to disposal
- We clean up the area where the tub was sitting
Have your electrician disconnect first
What we don't do
We don't handle pool removal, pool draining, or in-ground tub demolition. Those require specialty contractors.
