Senior Downsizing Help in Kansas City
Decades of life in one house, and a smaller one ahead. We do the hauling and the heavy lifting — you set the pace.
Downsizing isn't a junk problem — it's a life's worth of belongings and a house that has to get smaller. Whether you're moving to a smaller home, joining a senior community, or helping a parent through that move, the hard part is rarely deciding what to keep. It's the physical work of everything else: the basement, the garage, the furniture nobody has room for. That part is ours.
How we help
It starts with a free on-site walkthrough — with you, your family, or both — and a firm written quote. From there we work room by room at whatever pace fits: one afternoon for a garage, or several visits spread over weeks for a full house. Keep, donate, and haul piles stay separate, nothing leaves without a yes, and we do every bit of the carrying, including the pieces that have been in the basement since the Carter administration.
Usable furniture and goods go to our KC donation partners with a receipt to you within 14 days, and out-of-state family can follow along with photo updates and the written quote by text. If a realtor or senior move manager is involved, we coordinate with them on the timeline — we're the crew for everything that isn't making the move.

FAQ
Senior downsizing — common questions
It’s priced by volume, so it depends on how much leaves the house. A single unwanted item starts at $100; clearing one room typically runs $295–$495; a quarter truckload is $245, a half is $375, and a full truckload is $595. Clearing a whole house ahead of a move typically runs $595–$1,800+ depending on how full it is. You get a firm written quote at a free on-site walkthrough before anything moves, and larger jobs can be split into stages so the cost (and the pace) stays manageable.
That’s normal — most downsizing jobs start that way. Nothing leaves the house without a yes. We can work room by room, set up simple keep / donate / haul zones, and pause whenever a box of photos stops the afternoon. If it helps, we start with the easy calls (the basement, the garage) and leave the hard decisions for a later visit.
Yes. If there’s a move-in date at an independent- or assisted-living community, we work backward from it and coordinate with the family, the realtor, or a senior move manager on timing. To be clear about our lane: we’re the haul-away and donation crew for everything that isn’t making the move — packing and moving the things you’re keeping is a mover’s job, and we’re happy to work alongside one.
Usable furniture and household goods go to our Kansas City donation partners — Habitat ReStore, City Union Mission, and the Furniture Bank of Kansas City — and you receive a donation receipt within 14 days. A house that took decades to fill usually has a lot left in it that can help someone; the landfill is our last resort, not our first stop.
Yes, and it’s one of the most common ways this goes. We can walk the home with your parent, send you photos and the written quote by text or email, and keep you in the loop with photo updates as each stage finishes. You stay part of every decision without having to fly in for it.
